Live to Eat or Eat to Live – Daily Prompt

The prompt for today is Live to Eat

Right now most of my friends are living healthy lives and are eating to live. I am somewhere in between. I LOVE food. I LOVE eating. I LOVE dining out. I LOVE cooking. I don’t always restrict my diet.

Before traveling to any city/state, the first thing that I think about is food. What is the best restaurants of that location?  What type of food is that location known for?  I’ll have a list in my head or on my phone .

My husband eat’s to live.  I try to feed my family rule food. I try to have healthy snacks in the house and I try cook healthier than I use to.

After reading books by Michael Pollan and watching documentaries about food, processing food, conventional farming, GMO’s ,etc. I became cognizant of the impact of my food choices – on my body/health and the environment.

So I would like to live to eat good and healthy real food.

  1. I’m feeling awful because I just ate McDonalds. I do restrict what I eat through the week but even once in a while fast food is never good for you. Lol. Oh well there’s tomorrow. Let’s eat to live!

    1. Well I had Popeye’s yesterday LOL I don’t feel bad if I get fast food once every week or two. But the more, I am aware and try to eat better, the less appealing bad food is. So it just takes time

  2. Very good post. It is important for all of us to be cognizant of what we feed ourselves and our families not only physically, but mentally and emotionallyas well. Food is the cornerstone of healthy living. Somewhere along the way with our busy lives (& an intense marketing campaign launched by the food industry) we have been “swept up”. As a result our food choices have taken a tole causing us to not have not have optimal peak performance health. It is never too late to change. Kudos on your choices. At the same time food is good and it doesn’t hurt to have breakfast on a Sunday at “wildberry”!!!

  3. I have started a no meat month to try to train my body that I need to eat to live not live to eat. I’m on day 7 and it’s not so bad as we have so many things to eat instead of meat. Today was hard because we are eating at a church family home and they grilled chicken which is my favorite but his wife made the best Mac n cheese, green beans, sweet potatoes, and potatoe salads. I must say I’m full and everything was great! So my next healthy journey will be to only eat real farm grown food. Long live all those that try to eat what’s right for the body and band what’s wrong! 😆
